A lost island
Long ago, in the middle of the Mediterranean, there was an island called Araia, a meeting point between East and West. From that meeting three cultures were born — Yalmar, Ouzalim and Valmyra — who lived together in harmony until a great earthquake wiped them from the map and from memory.
Today, from Madrid, we imagine the island has risen again. We are not trying to reproduce an exact past, but to play at rebuilding it with freedom and respect, through flavours, aromas and wines that evoke what might have been.
Differences did not divide, they added: other skin colours, languages and ways of seeing the world wove together, feeding a cultural richness all its own.
Eating becomes a way of belonging: of meeting friends, of making new ones, of sharing curiosity and joy. We want to be your hosts, but also your friends; a community of food lovers, wine enthusiasts, design dreamers and music seekers gathered around the table.
Araia is our tribute to an invented culture, a place where an imagined past and the present meet across the table. A space for sharing flavours, stories and moments.
